Carlo Bernardini lives between Rome and Milan; he teaches Multimedia Installations at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. He works with optical fibres since the second half of the 90’s, his environmental installations were presented in museums and public spaces in the major cities of Italy and Europe. He is a three time winner of the Overseas Grantee award of the Pollock Krasner Foundation in New York receiving grants in 2000, 2005 and 2010. Among his most important international exhibitions it is worth mentioning the great exhibition in Brasil in 2004 at Museo Paço Imperial in Rio De Janeiro and the installation Event Horizon at the Swing Space in New York in 2007. In 2008 he presents in Valencia a gigantic environmental installation in the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias, the renowned architectural masterpiece of Santiago Calatrava. In 2009 he participated at the D.U.M.B.O. Art Festival in New York and he was invited at the Contemporary Art Museum of Lugano, Swizerland. In 2010 he have presented special environmental projects in public spaces in Amsterdam (NIMk - Netherlands Media Art Institute), The Hague (Todaysart), Berlin (Artlight Domaquarèe). In the same year he participates at Luci d’Artista in Tourin, the italian most important outdoor environmental art exhibition and he was invited to exhibit in the renowed Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation in Milan. Among the most important exhibitions in 2011 there is the installation The Corner’s Revenge at the MACRO museum of Rome and at the Church of Santa Maria in Montesanto also in Rome.
Carlo Bernardini vive tra Roma e Milano, insegna Installazioni Multimediali all’ Accademia di Brera a Milano. Lavora con la fibra ottica dalla seconda metà degli anni ’90, le sue installazioni ambientali sono state presentate nelle maggiori città italiane ed europee. Vince e per ben 3 volte (nel 2000, 2005 e 2010) il premio Overseas Grantee della Pollock Krasner Foundation di New York. Tra le mostre internazionali di maggiore rilievo vanno menzionate la grande mostra in Brasile al museo Paço Imperial di Rio de Janeiro e l’installazione Event Horizon allo Swing Space di New York. Nel 2008 presenta a Valencia una gigantesca installazione ambientale in dialogo col capolavoro architettonico di Santiago Calatrava, la Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Nel 2009 partecipa al D.U.M.B.O. Art Festival a New York e viene invitato al museo d’arte contemporanea di Lugano. Nel 2010 presenta grandi installazioni urbane in numerose capitali europee tra cui Amsterdam (NIMk - Netherlands Media Art Institute), l’Aja (Todaysart), Berlino (Artlight Domaquarèe). Nello stesso anno è la partecipazione a Luci d’Artista a Torino e alla mostra La Scultura Italiana del XXI secolo alla Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro a Milano. Tra le principali mostre del 2011 và annoverato il progetto La Rivincita dell’Angolo al MACRO di Roma e l’impressionante intervento nella Chiesa di Santa Maria in Montesanto di Piazza del Popolo, a Roma.
